We are officially 2 weeks post-op now! It seems like a lifetime ago and also just like yesterday. Avery is continuing to do well. Most of the time, you wouldn't even know there was anything wrong with her. Her scars are healing nicely, and every time I see them, I am reminded how tough she is! She has not complained of pain once since just a few days after surgery.
She's been spending her days doing crafts, making slime, catching up on her kindergarten work and barking orders at her Mommy. We've been pretty much back to our normal routine - work, school, soccer, art, piano, homework, etc. Avery's been a trooper through it all(for the most part).
We return to Children's for the spinal MRI and spinal tap at 6:45 tomorrow morning. After that, we are looking forward to a nice, quiet long weekend.

You and the family are on my mind daily; my prayers are not ending and in this battle, I know you will be given the strength you need. God will not take us to it if He doesn't plan to take us through it. I am just so sorry that you are having to go through this horrible experience. I cannot imagine, I cannot understand, and I am sure I have no idea of your pain, worry, and fear. I do know prayer works, and I do believe in miracles! Stay strong, and please call out if I am able to help you or your family in any way! I have known Shon since 7th grade, and I love…
You and your family are in my prayers today and every day! I hope the MRI and other test reveal good results, and that Avery is able to look to a brighter future! God is good, and HE has your baby in His arms. I can't imagine what you and Shon have been through with this happening; it breaks my heart to think of someone so helpless and little having to go through what she has. Keep the faith, and thank you for keeping us posted. Give my love to Deb and Loyd; I know they are worried sick too; you guys are their world!
Praying that she’s less fearful of the doctors and nurses and that the cancer isn’t anywhere else. Hang in there momma. 😘
Praying for good test results!
