Avery rested better last night. She was still up quite a bit and fussed during vitals, but she didn't get sick until 5am this morning. They gave her Benadryl to help with the nausea. It helped her rest until the 8am vitals. A kid who doesn't get in her full Benadryl nap is a cranky kid!
Avery's sodium has remained stable, so they agreed to let us home on twice a day sodium supplements. She is taking an extra 7 grams a day of sodium in addition to her feeds(the average recommended intake is 2300mg or 2.3 g).
She had some fun this morning with Chaplain Paul and Ms. Lindsey. These are 2 very special people that God placed in our lives during this journey that we will forever be grateful for. They are some of the few people that Avery feels comfortable being herself around :)
Avery's platelets were 53 this morning, so she needed a transfusion to help hold us over until Friday's clinic appointment. Her ANC has already dropped down to 60. We are praying to avoid any fevers that would land us back in the hospital until counts recover.
We were finally released about 3pm. We had to stop by to pick up her pump and feeds on the way home to start her at home nutrition. Hopefully we will be able to give her the calories and fluids she requires to gain some strength. Finally, we made our mandatory Starbucks stop.
She was so glad to be home and see her sisters. She had some much needed play time, rest time, and bath time before heading to bed.
We are so glad to have made it through this first mini battle. We have a much larger and longer war to fight ahead of us, but we are trying to take it one step and one day at a time.
Please continue to pray for:
- No fevers or infections
- Rest
- Quick count recovery
- Complete healing
LB she is a doll! I'm so happy you were able to go home! We are praying over you all daily! <3
So thankful you are all home together again. Prayers for a restful time at home to enjoy being all together again. Praying for all to go well and no setbacks.
This is wonderful news! I am so happy you got to go home and sleep in your own beds and I know the sisters were thrilled to have you and Avery home---not forgetting Shon's happiness! Continued prayers and love sent to you all; hang in there! God's got this!
Love,
Dana
So glad you are home. Praying for no fevers, test and complete healing.
With so many prayers going up for her all she needs is ONE day at a time until that special ONE day she is cancer free again!!!
