A day of rest

We began the day going to church as a family. One of us was going to take the big girls and give Avery the option to stay home since she is so easily tired, but she was ready and willing to go She insisted on going to kid's church, so I decided to tag along in case she got sick. Lexi joined Shon in big church so he wouldn't have to go alone.

As soon as we walked in, Avery was greeted with hugs and love from Pastor Matt and the other grownups. She handled it exceptionally well given that she is often shy in crowds. Pastor Matt has been such a good friend to us through this whole ordeal. He has visited, prayed with us and for us, brought food, helped us pack the car... you name it! He has gone above and beyond, and we couldn't be more grateful.

We participated in praise and worship, and then listen to the message on obedience. It was such a blessing to listen to what our kids are being taught in church, and it was a good reminder for anyone of any age.

As they said a special prayer for Avery's healing, I couldn't help but tear up and be thankful for all that God has brought her through in the past couple of weeks. We may not understand right now, but we trust that He has a plan for Avery to further His Kingdom.

It was a big day for Avery overall! She didn't get sick for the first time in 4 days. She didn't take a nap(although she may have needed one). She ate the best she has since before surgery, and she played a lot with her sisters. Her energy and strength are slowly returning. We will continue to celebrate each small victory as it comes!
