Count Recovery Day 10

Monday, October 19th

Avery continues to improve each day. Sunday night she slept so well. She didn't even wake once during vitals.

Her ANC was up to 440 today. Her platelets were 51 so she will require a transfusion tomorrow morning. All of her other numbers look good. She has remained fever free for 48 hours now.

We were able to decrease her morphine drip and eliminate her midday dose of Gabapentin. We will keep decreasing her morphine every 12 hours which means she should be completely off of it tomorrow sometime. We did not restart her feeds since she has to go NPO at midnight tonight and tomorrow. This will allow her colitis a little more time to heal. She is eating a tiny bit by mouth, but thankfully it is enough to satisfy her hunger.

Her g-tube site is looking much better and not causing any more pain or discomfort, She will continue on a full 10 day course of antibiotics to ensure everything clears up properly.

Avery had a great day playing with Legos. She finished one set and had started another. She got to spend an hour and a half with Ms. Valerie in art therapy, and they had a blast together. She was worn out from all of the excitement and took a 4+ hour nap this afternoon.

Tomorrow she will go down and have her brain and spine MRIs. We are praying hard for improved scans as we head into radiation.
