Count Recovery Day 7

Writer: Lori Beth RicheyLori Beth Richey

Friday, October 16th

Avery rested better Thursday night, and her pain was better controlled. She only needed one or two prn doses of morphine in addition to the drip.

She needed both blood and platelet transfusions today. Her ANC was up to 50. She kept her nurses busy with 3 different antibiotics three times a day plus the blood and platelets and all the vitals that go along with them. She has continued to run fever off and on.

She was able to do a small craft this morning but otherwise spent most of the day sleeping. IV Benadryl every 8 hours is keeping her so sleepy. She slept from 2-8 this afternoon/evening.

When she woke she was in a good deal of pain. She received an extra dose of pain medicine at 9 and 11, but she is still hurting. I’ve requested they go up slightly on the drip. It’s going to make for a long night.

Please continue to pray for:

- Counts to rise

- Pain management

- No more fevers

- Rest

- Upcoming scans

I am so sorry they can't find the cause of her pain. Praying it gets under control better and she feels like playing and smiling. Hope the fever goes away and always for the scans. Love you all.

Father, I’m lifting this precious child up to you to ask for healing. Please give her comfort and rest and take away her pain. I ask you to to let her test reports be so good that even the doctors are amazed. I pray for strength for Avery, her Mother, and all her family. Please be with all her caregivers and give wisdom to those making decisions about her Care. We give you all the glory for what you’ve already done on behalf of Avery and thank you for the lives that have been touched because her family’s witness.

In the precious name of Jesus. Amen
