Saturday, September 21st
We enjoyed a couple of good days at home. Avery started out strong, but we could tell her numbers were starting to drop as she was getting more tired and irritable. Her tummy has still been giving her issues, and her appetite is still pretty poor.
We spent some time celebrating the big girls’ birthday last night at the Legion FC game, and they were taking some friends to Urban Air this afternoon to celebrate as well. They will turn 9 on September 25th, but we celebrated early due to a packed scheduled next week.
Avery woke up this morning feeling pretty puny. We took her temp early on, and it was 99.5. I ran to Target and Academy to finish up birthday shopping. When I arrived home, Avery was extremely whiny. We took her temp, and it was 100.6. This prompted a call to the on-call ongology nurse, and we were told to head to the ER. I hadn’t fully unpacked our bag from last week, so we threw a few things in, and headed to the hospital.
They have very strict protocols for oncology patients, so we quickly had vitals and were whisked to an ER room. She had antibiotics and fluids flowing within an hour of arriving. Her temp now read 101.9. We waited for a few hours before we were finally admitted and moved back up to the 8th floor(one room over from last week).
Avery will continue to receive antibiotics and will get an infusion of platelets tonight since her numbers were low.
We will try to get some rest tonight, and see what tomorrow brings. Hopefully we will be back home together soon❤️

You are goody parents and have been so on top of keeping her safe! While this was a bump in the road, you did all the right things for Avery! Prayers continue and hope she springs back soon!
This makes me sad 😢 IAM still praying for the best girl .
Darn it, but glad they have good protocol to follow. Praying. 😇🙏
Hoping Avery is much improved tomorrow!
Praying you both get some rest and that Avery is much better tomorrow ♥️
