Wednesday, November 20th
Avery continued to struggle some with pain overnight which led to her being pretty restless. She spiked a fever right before bedtime, but remained fever free until close to 6am where she had a 100.6 temperature. She woke up with some pain and vomiting, but they were able to get that under control pretty quickly.
Her hemoglobin was good, so no blood transfusion was needed today. Her platelets were low again requiring a transfusion. They kept the same electrolyte supplements and antibiotic regimen as yesterday. Her ANC remains at zero.
After getting her nausea and pain settled, she had a pretty good morning. She painted, played some games, and watched the iPad. She was in an overall good mood. She began getting tired around noon and took a much needed nap. She woke up extra cranky and remained that way most of the evening.
She had remained fever free since early this morning until right at bedtime. She was complaining of being cold and asked to go to bed at 8. When they checked her temperature, she had spiked to 101.9. They drew blood cultures, gave her Tylenol, and even managed her nightly Neupogen injection without fully waking her.

Her blood and fungal cultures continue to show no growth. They swabbed her mouth today to test for HSV-1. Until the results of the test come back, we are back on contact precautions again. She also received her Day 15 Vincristine(chemo) which officially ends her treatment for Cycle 3.
Now it is just a waiting game waiting for her ANC to rise and her to remain fever free before we can go home(still at least a few days away). Due to low ANC, it is highly unlikely that they will be able to collect stem cells this week. That will probably be scheduled for next week as well as MRI scans to see how she has responded to treatment.
Please continue to pray for:
- ANC to begin rising
- No more fever
- Pain management
- Successful stem cell collection
- Clear scans
I hope that every day brings better news! May her levels be where they need to be and the fever leave her! Her sweet smiles are so precious to see, and my prayers for all of the family continue each day!♥️♥️♥️🙏🙏🙏🙏🌈🌈🌈
Continuing to pray for your specific needs and complete healing. Gods peace & comfort.
