Avery rested so much better last night! We were only up once for a trip to the bathroom, but she otherwise slept the entire night through. This morning's labs showed that her ANC had risen to 870, but her platelets were low again. We started the day with a transfusion which is preceded by a dose of Tylenol and Benadryl. This allowed Avery to continue to sleep until around noon.

We were finally given the green light to go home so we started getting things ready. I packed up the room while Shon cleaned the house from top to bottom. Neither of us were expecting to get to go home today, so it was a nice surprise!
The stylist came by early afternoon to give Avery her hair cut. She asked if we wanted it short or buzzed, and Avery said she wanted it all gone. I couldn't even be sad watching her get it buzzed off because she was smiling the entire time. I was a little worried about her reaction when we went to look in the mirror, but all she said was "Yeah, I look good." I only wish we could all be so confident!
Our final task before leaving was to get training on the NG tube and administering feeds at home. Avery will remain on 24hr feeds for now until she begins eating better. It is a little stressful with this new responsibility, but it will be overall less stressful knowing she's getting what her body needs and being able to push her meds through the tube without a fight.
Shortly after training, they removed her line(aka noodle), and we receive our discharge papers and hit the road.
We were so glad to get home and see Shon and the girls(after their soccer game)! We are looking forward to a few good days at home as a family of 5.

We return to Clinic Monday morning to get her counts checked again. If everything goes as planned, we will return to the hospital Wednesday to begin Cycle 2.

Please continue to pray for:
- Increased appetite
- Continued tolerance of the NG tube and feeds
- A fun and restful time at home
- No new fever or illnesses
Avery you are Rocking that haircut. Absolutely Gorgeous!! Praying you get to stay home and recuperate!!
Praying for her to have a restful time at home. And that she would start to eat a little more and no new side effects. And praying for the family as well.
Avery lacks nothing in the self esteem department! That's a gift! I'm especially praying for you Lori Beth! A mama feels every ache and pain their child feels but they also feel a love for their child like no other! A mother's love can move mountains! However, you have to do some self care in order to maintain your strength for Avery and the Twins! I wish I could wrap my arms around you! It would make me feel better! But I've known you since you were a little girl and Avery gets her confidence and even that streak of stubbornness from You! God knew you would have this one day. He began preparing you from the beginning. Your strong…
She is adorable! Prayers continued for you all! (I know your parents.)
Praying for all of her needs to be met, rest and less stress for all of you, and a peaceful time until it is time to return to the hospital. Love, hugs, and continuing prayers!!!!!!
