Friday, October 18th
The stem cell harvest was cancelled for the day. Even with the added medicine, Avery was a poor immobilizer this round. We will check labs again Monday, but they are skeptical it will make a difference. We will try again next cycle. If she is still not able to mobilize like they need, bone marrow harvesting will be our final option. This is obviously more invasive, so we hope it doesn’t come to that.
Although we wanted to get this next step completed, I was honestly relieved when they cancelled. Avery has had such a rough few weeks, and I hated to put her through another procedure when she was finally feeling good. Once we got word, we quickly packed our bags and headed home.
Avery‘s ANC was 10,100 when we left the hospital. This had her feeling great and us feeling safer to venture out of the house. Shon and the big girls headed to the carnival while Avery and I headed to the Endless Mile to support the #brAvery 48 hour relay team. It was so nice for both of us to spend some time outdoors, visit with friends, and log a few miles.
We are excited to spend a fun filled weekend at home together!

God has His arms around Avery, and when it is time and the stem cell procedure is in place, He will make a way. Hug the girls and love them all! Enjoy your time at home and I hope Mom and Dad can get some much needed rest!
