Sunday, November 24th
Avery had a rough early Sunday morning. She woke up right after midnight vitals and couldn't fall back to sleep until after 2am. Shortly after, she woke up at 3:20 vomitting. She finally fell back to sleep after some Benadryl for the nausea. Then her nightly labs came back, and her potassium was high(5.8), so they ordered an EKG. At 5:20 am, they came and did the EKG and turned on every light in the room. Luckily her results looked good, and she was able to fall back asleep until 7.
She didn’t need blood, platelets or mag today. They ordered a sodium-phos bolus and temporarily suspended her K-phos due to the potassium issue. She has been fever free since Saturday morning. Her ANC remains at zero.
She was still very low energy and activity today, but she seemed to feel a tad better. She had her last scheduled dose of morphine at 8am and has now switched to “as needed”. She hasn’t needed any pain meds the rest of the day. They rechecked her potassium level this afternoon, and it was back down to 4.8(normal range).
She asked to go to bed and was fast asleep by 9. We are hoping for a less eventful and more restful night.

- That we get to go home in a few more days

I am so very thankful for answered prayers for this sweet girl! Being fever free for several hours is a blessing for sure. Praying for her ANC to rise, no more vomiting tonight and for Avery and Mom to have a restful night. Thank you God for hearing and answering prayers for this precious one. Please grant this precious child a miracle of healing.
