Monday, September 30th

We had a glorious weekend at home filled with lots of laughter, smiles, silliness, and soccer! Avery was a ball of energy most of the weekend and enjoyed every minute being at home. She is a completely different kid at home!

We returned to clinic this morning to get her counts checked. Accessing her port was about as much fun as usual, but our wonderful nurse got it done quickly even though she was trying to hit a moving screaming target. Avery passed all of her labs with flying colors. Her ANC was up to 5,000, and her platelets were at 200,000. This meant no transfusions necessary, and we are ready to proceed with Cycle 2. Her weight was up to 19.7kg(43.4lbs) which means she has gained nearly 3lbs back. We are still down from her weight at diagnosis, but we are definitely headed in the right direction.

We were home by lunch and finished the day out with work and soccer practice. The heat let up a little and the clouds came out, so Avery and I played outside during soccer practice. It was such a joy to seeing her feeling so good before we have to go back in!

We report back to clinic Wednesday at 8am. She will be admitted(for roughly another week) and start Cycle 2 of chemo.

Please continue to pray for:

- Side effects of chemo to be mild

- Fear and anxiety to subside

- Good(or at least decent) rest while in the hospital

- For Shon and the big girls while we are away

Lori Beth, is she able to receive cards? With the worry over germs/infection, I didn't know. If so, can you give the hospital address? Thank you!

Beautiful girls, beautiful photos, and beautiful news of a good weekend and her awesome report! I know you and Shon are tired and worried about Avery and your older girls; I just feel that you are all in God's Army, and fighting the fight of your lives. One day, you will look back at this time and your blog and think of how everything in your world was turned upside down; however, I do believe that God is a healer and an awesome God who will wrap his arms around His child and all of your family. One day, you will be able to say, "My little girl is cancer free, and those days of pain, tears, worry, and sadn…
