Monday night/Tuesday morning continued to be rough on Avery. She battled stomach cramps, insomnia, and continued fevers. Her platelet count came back low(22), so they started platelets around 5:20 am. She was also running a temperature of 102.5 at this time, so they had to give Tylenol. Unfortunately, they had issues pushing anything into her NG tube. Against her will we forced her to get up, change positions, and pretty much anything we could think of to get her tube to flush. Finally, I realized that the syringe being used didn't have a big enough tip and was not sealing properly. After changing syringes, we were able to flush her tube and give her the Tylenol. She reluctantly went back to sleep for about an hour.
The rest of her labs looked good , so there was no need for blood or any changes to the current electrolyte supplements. Her blood cultures(old and new) continue to show no growth, and her ANC remains at zero. She is still battling diarrhea, so they sent another culture to check for C-Diff given the amount of antibiotics and length of time she has been on them. We are once again on contact precaution until the results from the test come back.
After a rough night and early morning, I was expecting a pretty rough day. She was pretty quiet the first half of the day not paying me much attention. She started to feel better in the afternoon though. We played some tic-tac-toe, addressed and stuffed Christmas cards, and drew pictures. Her good mood continued through the evening where she played with her Daddy and even her nurses some.

She vomited once late in the day but has continued to be fever free since early morning. We are adding in liquid Melatonin to her nightly routine to try and help her sleep better.
Please continue to pray for:
- No more fevers
- ANC to rise
- Much needed rest
- No new complications
I’m thankful for her fighting spirit, her beautiful smile, and for her loving family always at her side and for having her back! Prayers for better days and nights, and for peaceful rest for both her and Mama! 😇😇😇😇
