Day 24

Writer: Lori Beth RicheyLori Beth Richey

Friday, November 29th

Avery had another good day today. We are hoping we are over the worst of his cycle.

Her labs were borderline this morning, but they decided to hold off on giving blood. She will likely need it tomorrow. Her electrolytes are still stable. Her ANC has climbed to 150.

We had to change her NG dressing today which is her least favorite thing to do. It takes 3 people to hold her down to get it done. This caused her to start the day off in a fairly bad mood. She quickly rallied though and was happy, silly, and smiling most of the rest of the day.

She took a good nap this afternoon from about 4-7. She vomited once this evening and has remained fever free since early Thursday morning.

The tentative plan is to move to transplant on Sunday. They’ll draw a CD34 level first thing Monday morning if her counts continue to rise. This level tells how well her stem cells are mobilizing. The last time we tried this, her numbers were never good enough for collection. If she doesn’t meet the criteria Monday, they will test again Tuesday. Pending no new complications, we should get to go home after this.

Please continue to pray for:

- No more fever

- Rising ANC

- Successful stem cell collection

Thanking God for answered prayers for this precious child. So thankful her levels are rising and the fever has broken. This picture of Shon and Avery is worth a thousand words. That great big smile on both of their faces is priceless! Prayers continue for no more fever, ANC continues to rise and for successful stem cell collection! Thank you Jesus for hearing and answering prayers for this precious child. Continuing to pray for a miracle. We serve an awesome God and He is able to do more than we can even begin to comprehend.
