Avery rested well last night. She didn't have anymore nausea over night but she did spike a fever. They quickly drew labs to test for infection, but so far everything has come back negative. They will continue to keep a close eye on things especially if she has fever again.
Shortly after she woke up this morning, she got sick . We were not ready for it this time however. Nothing quite says true love and good morning like catching vomit in your hand, but sometimes you just have to do what you have to do. We quickly got things cleaned up. and my hands were sanitized too many times to count.

She started her etoposide at 10:00, followed by her cyclophosphmide at 12:15. There were no real issues with either. We were starting to feel good about the day and considering increasing her feeds when she threw up again(in a bag this time at least). We decided to leave things alone until she could better tolerate things. She also had a few episodes of an upset tummy, so we are keeping our fingers crossed that this won't be a repeat of last round.
Shon came by to visit and stay with her after work while I ran to the Apple Store to replace a bad battery in her iPad. I have to say that I have always had nothing but exceptional service at the Apple Store at the Summit. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes, and they replaced her entire iPad for $99. If you ever need any Apple help and you live in the BHM area, I highly recommend them!
Avery and Daddy stayed busy making headbands and decorating her IV pole while I was gone. She was finally smiling and seemed to be feeling better by the time I got back which is always a nice thing to come "home" too. Tonight marks our 27th night in the hospital since mid-August, so this place has become as close to "home" as you can get.

She is scheduled to begin her methotrexate around 10 am tomorrow. Once that is complete, we will have to wait for it to clear her system before we can go to "real home". Last round it took about 96 hours to clear.
Please continue to pray for:
- Nausea and vomiting to subside
- No upset tummy
- Continued good spirits
- Continued rest
Thanks for this update! I'm sorry she had the vomiting, but maybe that will be a one-time thing! This for sure is a challenge for that sweet girl and for you all! Prayers for her to tolerate the meds today and for them to clear quickly! I know you are ready to go home and be with your family. It has to be hard for the other girls who miss mama and their sister, and especially hard for you and Shon to balance both places and kids! Sending love and prayers!
Glad she’s in good spirits and getting some rest. Continued prayers for all of you. 🙏❤️
Prayers for a restful night for both of you! Also prayers for the nausea to subside and for Avery to wake in the morning with that beautiful smile on her sweet face.
Praying she tolerates the meds and her tummy and nausea stay under control. Hope the fever stays away. She is so precious to be going thru all of this with that huge adorable smile. Prayers for the family too. Deb seems to be doing a great job of taking care of the twins for you both. Love you. Aunt Phyllis and Uncle Jack
