Wednesday, April 28th
Avery has continued to decline over the past week. Her right eye is now almost completely shut, and her pupil shows little to no reaction to light. She is losing more strength in her legs and needs a little extra assistance to get up. She also began having intermittent vomiting again on Monday.
Back in the Fall when Avery was critical(she ended up on a vent with an EVD), Shon and I both agreed that we never wanted to see her suffer. We never wanted our selfish desires to keep her here on Earth to overshadow what was in Avery's best interest. And because of that, we have decided to discontinue any further treatment and spend her remaining time at home. With the help of ComfortCare(Hospice), we plan to give her the best life possible with whatever time God has planned for her left on this Earth.
Thank you all for the love and care and prayers you have shared with us through Avery's journey! They mean more to us than you will ever know.
We respectfully ask that you grant us our privacy during this difficult time. We may be slow or unresponsive at times to texts and calls. We also ask that you don't send any items to our home. We have everything we need at this time.
