Sunday, September 6th
Avery had a slightly better night last night. She still battled with stomach cramps and diarrhea, but we were only up a couple of times throughout the night. She was awake at 6:45 and ready to go this morning. Her early rising is contributing to her over tiredness. At home, she is used to sleeping until 8 and 9, but it is difficult to sleep in the hospital(especially in the mornings).
She had a good morning overall. We built a new Lego set and played with slime and games on the iPad. She had fun being silly and playing with Shon as well.
Her ANC has risen to 10. Her platelets had dropped to 63. Her Hemoglobin fell below 7, so she required a blood transfusion. She remained fever free overnight as well.
Around noon, she received Benadryl and Tylenol as pre-meds for the blood transfusion. That put her right to sleep which she really needed. Unfortunately, when they had to start taking vitals for the blood, she woke up very angry. She fought Shon and the nurse constantly the entire time she received blood. Part of the issue was likely due to not getting her entire nap in, but I also think she is completely over being in the hospital this time. I don't blame her either, but it makes it difficult for everyone to do their jobs.
Mid to late afternoon, she turned the corner for the good again. She laughed and played some as well. She was even very nice and followed all of the requests of our night nurse. She asked to go to bed at 8:30 and was asleep minutes after the lights went out.
Please continue to pray for:
- Rest
- No more fevers
- ANC to continue to rise
- No more positive blood cultures
I’ve never met her in person but can see she is one sweet girl going through a difficult time with the help of loving parents who would do anything to take this pain away! I continue praying for her daily as if she was my own. May the Lord continue to strengthen you and Shon as only He can do!
Prayers for no fever, REST, ANC to rise, and no more positive blood cultures, grace and mercy for your Precious Avery. Prayers for smooth sailing the rest of this hospital stay for Avery, Mom, Dad, and those awesome nurses who help the children every day.....24/7!!♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Father, little Avery needs a tender touch from You. She probably feels like she is on a roller coaster ride, up and down. May the fever stay away, her numbers be constance, and her blood cultures be good. Thank you for caring for her, her family, and her nurses and doctors.
Glad she had a better night and is managing some sleep. Prayers for better days ahead!
Praying for sweet Avery! She will beat this!! 💕
