Wednesday, October 7th
Avery only woke a couple of times in the night to go to the bathroom. Otherwise, she slept well and slept through vitals. As 4:30 am, she woke up and vomited twice. She quickly went back to sleep though after the Benadryl for the nausea.
She is still battling the stomach cramps, so they have added a second dose of Gabapentin daily. Other than that, there were no real changes made today.
Besides the stomach pains, she had a great day! She walked to the claw machine and won a toy. We played air hockey and wrote her name on the window. She did Legos and tortured her nurses with toy spiders. She tried on and modeled her Halloween costume. She ate chips and queso. She was silly and laughing the majority of the day. She even did an excellent job getting her port deaccessed and reaccessed (which is a big deal for her)! This was one of the first days on her journey that our nurses have seen the real Avery that we know and love.
Tomorrow she will receive her final dose of Irinotecan. Friday, she is scheduled to receive her stem cell boost.
Please continue to pray for:
- Relief from stomach cramps
- No fevers
- No harsh side effects from tomorrow's chemo
- Rest

This sounds like a pretty good day! She needs to share her secret with the Claw machine! I never win. I love reading these posts that are more positive, and hopefully she will continue to only get stronger and experience a complete healing! That is my prayer every day! Don't forget to take care of Mom too; get your rest as you can and give her a big kiss and hug; we all love all of you!
