Thursday, October 8th
Avery slept well last night except for a mishap with her g-tube that required a pajama change at 4:30 this morning. When she woke up this morning, she was still dealing with some pretty harsh stomach pains.
Her platelets were 59 which means that a transfusion is very likely tomorrow. Her ANC has dropped to 130 so she is officially neutropenic. Everything else looked good including her sodium.
She received her last dose of chemo this cycle, Irinotecan. Almost as soon as the medicine started, she began feeling sick. She battled with an upset tummy, cramping, and vomited 3 times while the medicine ran. We gave her Benadryl for the nausea, and added in Aloxi as a longer acting anti-nausea medicine. After a long morning of feeling terrible and a short nap, she finally started to perk up midafternoon. The rest of the day went great! She built with Legos, made an erupting volcano, shot slime out of a syringe over and over, played with her nurses, performed songs, paraded the halls as a Power Ranger, and giggled until bed time.
Tomorrow she will receive her stem cell boost which should help speed up her count recovery. Her next MRI is scheduled for October 20th.
Please continue to pray for:
- Stomach cramping
- Count recovery
- No illness or infections
- Improved scans
Praying! For Avery’s needs to be met! God is able!
Continuing to pray as requested & complete healing for this precious Avery!
Continued prayers for this amazing strong power ranger. Love her and her family💗
Who is in the pink with helmet? It could be a mask singer, maybe spider lady, oh I can't tell who it is?? Maybe someone on facebook knows. If you find out will you please let me know.
I am sorry some of the numbers are off, but so happy that she did perk up and finished today's treatment. I cannot imagine how hard for a child to endure all of the things she has been through; most adults would have huge problems! I pray for all things to work to His plan, and for everything on your list as well! She is a beautiful BRAVE AVERY!
