Avery rested a little better last night. She is still extremely on edge and easily agitated while she is asleep or in the process of waking up. This could possibly due to weaning off of some of her meds. This makes middle of the night vitals, cap changes, and hooking up her lines a bigger ordeal than usual.
Her ANC was 4310 this morning so they discontinued the Neupogen for at least a few more days. Her blood and platelet counts were good, so no transfusions were needed. They completely weaned her from her BA drip and left her Morphine drip the same. They are going to continue to wean the Morphine but at a little slower rate as to not cause her to have any withdrawal symptoms. She is still on Lasix twice a day but her weight is maintaining pretty steady so they will likely cut it down to once a day soon.
Overall she had a good day. She took a short nap but didn't sleep as much as the previous days. She kept to herself most of the day but did manage to play and joke around some.

I was able to bribe her to taker her Actigall by mouth again. As soon as she took it, she immediately vomited it back up. She ended up vomiting one additional time later in the evening not related to medicine. Hopefully this was an isolated incident and not an indication that we came off of the BA drip too soon.
Her skin is still very dry and peeling, but she won't let me use any lotions or creams. She leaves a trail of dried skin wherever she goes. Luckily, it doesn't seem to be itching her anymore. Although she takes a bath in the hospital nightly, we will be so glad when we get home and she is able to soak in a long bath which will hopefully help speed up the peeling process.
Please continue to pray for:
- No more vomiting
- Tolerate nutrition and medicines
- No new complications
- Rest
Glad to hear about all the good news. Continued prayers for healing for Avery. 🙏🙏
