Monday, February 17th
Avery had another restful night. She slept soundly until about 8:30 this morning.
Her ANC was up to 6200, so no Filgrastim was needed today. She didn't require blood or platelet transfusions either.
They decided to put a new NG tube in today. They used a regular NG tube because given her recent history, they didn't believe a weighted tube would provide any additional benefit. We put the tube in shortly after noon, and it proved to be extra traumatic setting the mood for the rest of the day. A chest x-ray showed that the tube was in her stomach but that it needed to be advanced further down. This meant they had to remove all of the fresh dressing from her face, advanced the tube some more and then re-secure the tube. Avery was extremely difficult to calm or comfort, but she worked herself up so much that she finally gave in to a nap. She whined and whimpered the entire time she slept.
They started her feeds at 5mL per hour and will leave them at that rate for 24hrs. They left all of her meds as IV for now, so she will only receive the Actigall via her tube twice a day. We are praying that she can tolerate the feeds and small increases each day. We do not want to have to go home on TPN.
She is tentatively scheduled to have her central line removed on Thursday. She only needed it for transplant, and we can go back to using her port as needed. Removing the line will also remove one additional risk for infection. This means she will undergo general anesthesia both Thursday and Friday(for her MRIs). This is proving to be a busy and tiresome week, but it will get us one step closer to home.

Please continue to pray for:
- No more vomiting
- Tolerate nutrition and medicines
- Clean scans
- Rest
Praying for continued good results from tests and then a firm date for going home.
You all are in our everyday thoughts and prayers.
Praying!
God bless this precious child. She has endured so much these past 6 months. So thankful for the restful night last night. I can only imagine how exhausted she and her mom must be. Prayers for another restful night and for a better day tomorrow!
