Transplant Day +26

Writer: Lori Beth RicheyLori Beth Richey

Wednesday, February 19th

Avery rested well last night. She was up by 7 this morning and a little grumpier than usual. Morning meds through her NG tube were a big fight, and I had to restrain her hands and feet to keep them from hitting and pulling. It took some time, but she finally snapped out of it and was back to her normal silly self.

Her ANC had dropped to 560, so she received a dose of Neupogen. Typically this far from transplant they don't see quite the fluctuation she is having. If it continues into next week, they may decide to give her a stem cell boost. This could be done in clinic, so we wouldn't have to be inpatient for it to happen. Everything else looked good, and no transfusions were needed today.

We increased her feeds to 15mL per hour. They originally planned to go up to 20mL, but due to a schedule change, we will be here until early next week, so there is no reason to rush and risk causing her to get sick. She has tolerated everything so far with little to no complaints of stomach pain.

There were no slots available for MRIs on Friday, so they are trying to get her worked in for Monday. Since we will be here through at least Monday, there was no reason to remove her central line tomorrow as planned, so that has been pushed to Monday as well. Hopefully, we should be on our way home early next week pending no new complications.

Please continue to pray for:

- Tolerate nutrition and medicines

- Clean scans

- Rest
