Avery's day started out rough. As soon as she woke up, she started vomiting and lost her tube again. They waited until around 11am to replace it. She tired herself out getting so worked up that she fell asleep on the couch. The chest x-ray showed that the tube was in her stomach, but it needed to be advanced even further. This meant undoing her dressing and pushing the tube further down which got her all worked up again. We started her feeds out at 20mL and have made it back to 30mL tonight.
Her ANC was 1730 today so she didn't require any Neupogen. She didn't require any transfusions, but her platelets were really close to her threshold. She will get them overnight after they draw her labs at 1am. They need her platelets to be as high an possible to prevent excessive bleeding when they remove her line and do the lumbar puncture.
While Avery had an overall good day, you could tell that she didn't feel 100%. She has been sneezing a lot and whinier than usual. She did manage to finish her new Lego set and play some games with me and Shon. She requested pizza for dinner and ate half a piece along with a few sips of water. This is the most she has eaten in 40 days!
She will be NPO at midnight tonight in preparation for the anesthesia tomorrow. They will increase her IV fluids to 50mL/hr to keep hydrated. We don't have a time for her tests and procedures tomorrow and usually won't know until about 20 minutes before they come to get her. She will start with the MRIs which last about 2 1/2 hours. From there, they will move her to the OR for her line removal, Lumbar Puncture, and hopefully ear cleaning. She'll spend some time in recovery, and then we will go back to the room.
Please continue to pray for:
- Tolerate nutrition and medicines
- Clean scans
- Avery's anxiety and fear
Praying that tomorrow will be a good day. I am sorry she had such a rotten day. Maybe she can relax and rest during times waiting for procedures. I pray for you and Shon. This can’t be easy watching her suffer so much. 💝💝💝
God love this sweet baby girl. She is such a fighter and tries so hard to feel good. Continued prayers for complete healing and her anxiety and fears to cease. Praying she Gets to Go home soon. 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️
