Avery had a slightly better night last night. She seemed to be able to rest a little more than previous nights. Her temperature spiked to over 105 around 4am. Tylenol and the cooling blanket managed to get it to a more manageable number though. While her fever hasn't ever officially broken, she is staying below 103 for a much longer period of time now. It was early afternoon before she made it to back up 103.3. It's so strange to be content with a fever in the 102s, but compared to the high temps she has been having, 102 seems normal.

Her pain and mucositis is still about the same and will likely remain this way for the next few days. She asked for ice chips and water today hoping it would provide some relief, but the act of swallowing is still too painful. She only vomited once today, and there was more old/dark blood than the fresh/red blood we saw yesterday.

She had an ANC of 70 today with a WBC(white blood count) of .34. We are so thankful for steps forward. As her ANC begins to rise, most of these terrible side effects will begin to go away. They are potentially thinking her fevers may be due to engraftment syndrome, but that is still debatable. If it ends up being that, they will treat her with steroids. She will be considered engrafted when her ANC is 500+ for 3 consecutive days.

Her platelets had dropped into the 40s again at the time of her afternoon labs. She will be receiving a transfusion in the next hour or so.

She spent the majority of the day sleeping and trying to rest. The oxygen mask and receiving meds through her NG tube are her biggest annoyances right now.
